A Lovely Update from Dr. Crystal Evans
Lovely 2017 has started out with a bang!
In our effort to grow The Lovely Project as a mentoring organization, we held our first-ever Lovely Mentor Training Day on January 21st. Lovely girls from Oviedo to Sorrento to Lake Mary came together to learn the values and principles that make our “Lovely culture” so popular, fun and effective! Learning why we mentor and how we mentor has never been so fun! Chick-Fil A catered our luncheon as we learned life-changing ways to reach beyond ourselves to help at-risk or lonely girls in Orlando.
Our Lovely Benefit held at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center in November was a huge success! We raised over $37,000 to continue our weekly mentoring programs at Wheatley Elementary, Lake Gem Elementary, Wolf Lake Middle, and University Behavioral Center, as well as a six-week prototype at Pace Center for Girls. Our aim is to expand in the fall of the 2017 school year to include more elementary and middle schools in Orange County. Click here for all the benefit pictures!
Our annual Lovely Project Experience is coming on Saturday February 4th. This is our BIG EVENT that brings lots of girls from Orange and Seminole County – to one place – to create, play, learn values, dance and make tons of new friends. Northwest Dance Studio provides an atmosphere that is fun, interactive and super cool! Girls from 11 to 19 are invited to attend and our fundraising enables us to fully sponsor and fund this event. Last year over 320 girls packed the gymnasium! For more information and registration, please visit wearelovely.com.
